Fireworks lights up the skies over Frisco as the many attend at Pizza Hut Park and the surrounding area. |
|
Fireworks are best captured with a long exposure, say 1-4 seconds, and a relatively small aperture. A tripod works best. Also, experiment with zooming the lens during the exposure. Other tips include avoid positioning yourself downwind both for safety and to keep smoke from creating haze. Consider getting landmarks, terrain, or the moon in some of the shots. To do that may require using a neutral density (gray) filter or gradient filter to manage the lighting of the various subjects.

This year, July 4th saw an alignment of planets, stars, and the moon. Although somewhat hard to see after all the fireworks, the camera picked up Saturn, Mars, and Regulus in the top left hand portion of the last image pointing to the moon. For more on this, check out the NASA website, here. |
